June 2026 Happenings
Summer, summer, summertime! Whoooo hooo! The school year ended in early June:
And I immediately spent the first two weeks working nearly non-stop on da garden! (Look at this cute mug I got from a student in my class).
Here’s the yard in progress. It was a lot of work filling those greenstalks but I have high hopes for this year! I think it’s going to be our best year yet!
We did have a little bit of a harvest in June:
including ALL these onion stalks
which Jac made into these yummy egg foo young type paddies:
Other than the garden, we had a little Father’s Day get-together at the house:
Besides the garden, I spent June doing some home reorganizing and minimizing, which then required us to get this cool new cd/dvd shelf. We put in the corner of our bedroom, and we kind like it. 🙂 And, of course, I then HAD to go buy SIXTY-something used dvds at Deseret Industries to help fill it up more! I now love our awesome movie collection!
And we got crafty. One evening we put together this cool Chinese style puzzle vase:
And I become suddenly obsessed with making this cute ‘diamond art’ coaster. I’m resisting the urge to buy 12 more projects right away. It’s just so so so fun and satisfying to do!
As always, we ate lots of yummy food, like:
We even had this Olive Garden appetizers feast-to-go when Jac found a long lost gift card while looking through his stuff. 🙂

And that was June. We did go on one adventure — City of Rocks National Reserve in Idaho. Pictures are below. We had a second trip but it got cancelled due to the crazy huge fires all over Utah right now! 🙁
