January’s Adventure — Capitol Reef National Park
In January we went on a quick, last minute trip to Capitol Reef National Park. So beautiful. Such stunning vistas!
We loved this massive, gnarly tree:
We’re pretty sure Amelia was having a great time too. 🙂
So many colors, even in the relatively ‘dead’ winter:
One highlight was stopping at Jac’s Food Truck. Yum!!!!
We practically had the whole park to ourselves, only seeing about a dozen cars the whole time!
So many colors. (And yes, we did get our rock!)
After an afternoon in the park, we checked into our Hotwire “hot deal” (decent), then headed out for what promised to be a unforgettable culinary experience! Tiny Bicknell’s pizza place–Curry Pizza–has garnered accolades right and left. It was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins. It was voted One of the Best
100 Places to Eat in America. It was voted Best of Utah (Salt Lake Weekly). Surely this was gonna be unforgettable! Here we go. Curry pizza….
Whaaaaaaat? Whaaaaaaat? No. Not unforgettable. (Although, it could also be that once you’ve had Le Cuisine de Jac, nothing else compares.) Oh well, at least we tried.
And last thing…. On the way home, Jac gets high!
