May’s Big Adventure — Camping at the Grand Canyon
We did it! We tested out our camping “idea”….and it was FUN! For memorial day weekend, we went on a road trip to the Grand Canyon North Rim:
And we had SUCH a great first time camping experience! Here’s our little home away from home:
Our tent was so comfy and cozy inside, with all our added creature comforts like real pillows, an air mattress…
…a space heater, and lights. It was very windy both days and it got cold at night (below freezing!), but we were snuggled up and comfy inside, and both slept great both nights!
And of course the food was amazing, thanks to camp cook Jac.

One very small snafu — we forgot silverware! No fear, we fashioned our own with foil and it worked perfectly!
The Grand Canyon
We were there to try out camping, but we also were excited to see the mind-boggling Grand Canyon! The weather was beautiful — perfect for a few short hikes — and it wasn’t very crowded, so… perfect recipe for a great time! Here are some pictures:
