August 2023 Happenings
No big adventure in August
With Jac moving out of his big house and into my little house, we had more than enough to do in August. No time for an adventure this month. But…we’ll be back at it in September. In fact, it’s already planned. 🙂
Jac Moved In!
This was a huge undertaking. It involved truckloads and truckloads and truckloads of stuff, taken to the dump, to D.I. or to my house:
Unfortunately one trip included this little drama as well…
And after a month of hard, hard, hard work, it was ALL gone. The garage was all cleaned out:
And the house was all cleaned out:
And what wasn’t donated or trashed….was over here! August’s project was getting out of the Taylorsville house. September’s project will be moving in here — into Jac’s new home! Our home. 🙂
Sundance Outdoor Theater
But it wasn’t all work. One Saturday night we went on a triple date — with Cindy & Jerry and KC & Mike — to see an outdoor performance of The Sound of Music at Sundance ski resort.
It was a great and awful experience. 🙂 The performance was really well done! The seating…was not. We had grass seats on a slope, and we were SUPER uncomfortable the whole time.
Plus is was super damp and cold, being high in a mountain valley.
We were all sooo uncomfortable, but the performance was so good, we all want to go again. Next year. We’ll just get better seats next time!
The Yard & Garden
Although it wasn’t the focus in our busy August, the yard and garden still thrived. Here are some pictures:
We will be adding a large trough just like the other ones. Next year. It will be amazing.
Jac’s Birthday
August 27th was Jac’s 60th birthday. (Wow! Sheesh! Yikes!) We celebrated with a day spent together and a nice dinner (cooked by Jac, lol). My gift to him got postponed a few weeks (due to the moving craziness). Here’s a picture of the lovely dinner Jac made, which we ate in the office because the kitchen was PACKED with move-in stuff.
And more yummy food
Despite the crushing to-do list of moving in, Jac still managed to cook up some AMAZING food for us in August. Most dishes included some of our fresh garden harvest. Here’s a few of his August creations:
We tried to eat dinner in our lovely backyard as much as possible. I love dining outside.
