October 2022 Happenings
Fall Colors Along the Nebo Loop
The first weekend of October we headed up into the mountains to see the fall colors around Mount Nebo. Unfortunately, it was a little too soon this year so we didn’t see as many bright yellows and oranges and reds as we’d hoped for, but it was a nice drive nonetheless. Here’s a few shots from the drive:
We did see “WILD TURKEYS…IN THE WILD” (to be read in a screaming voice.) I was maybe a little bit excited about that.
Lambs Canyon & Park City
The next weekend, we tried it again but a little higher in elevation and latitude. Jac picked the location this time, and he picked well. We drove up Lambs Canyon (off Emigration Canyon) and saw a great fall color display:

After some beautiful driving, we stopped at a state park and had Jac-made sushi and spring rolls (YUM!) and a little mini pie from a bakery. So fun and yummy!
After a little more driving, we headed into Park City to pick up the glass creations we made for Jac’s birthday. They look pretty great, if we do say so ourselves!
October 16th marked one year since our first fateful date, so we decided to commemorate one great year together by recreating that first date. First we went axe throwing at Social Axe in Salt Lake City, just like we did one year ago:
And as a little anniversary present, I gave Jac this “Explosion Box”, with pictures of our first year together and invitations to a special date for each month of our second year together (placed inside the little black envelopes). It was a fun gift for me to make, and Jac really liked getting it. 🙂
We went on an amazing 10 day trip to Northern California. You can read about it by clicking here.
And this happened…With a frost coming, I picked the last of the vegetables, then cleaned out the garden. Look at all those green tomatoes. They are going to be sitting there for WEEKS as we wait for them to ripen!
